I know wine-tasters often take a gentle sniff of the wine they're drinking before they actually taste it. I've heard of wine described as having a "nutty nose." How do nose and aroma actually differ?|||Its the same thing.|||There actually is a difference. Aroma, in the sensory analysis of wine, refers to natural occuring smells, such as fruit or grass. Bouquet, is the term which encompasses unnatural smells, These would be wood (oak) or foul smells from fermentation. "Nose" is either one of these or both.
