Can I use red wine in a lemon wine sauce?

I have frozen shrimp scampi, already with garlic sauce. Trying to make shrimp scampi pasta with a lemon wine sauce. Can I use red wine? That's the only kind I have. And also, should I add some worcestershire sauce and/or mustad to the sauce? I read it in some recipe but wasn't sure it works.|||ok...scampi doesnt have to have wine...lemon and garlic is fine...worcestershire sauce...definately not....but Dijon mustard is the new "It" ingredient...depends on your taste..but red wine will ruin it as a scampi...and just a little info for you...a scampi is actually a type of shrimp..so when you see chicken scampi or other types of scampi...just kind of makes ya giggle...enjoy your good eats!!!!|||yeah but it wasnt a scampi

|||no, white wine.|||Red wine will give it a different taste than the traditional white wine used.|||no white wine or just pain apple juice or unsweeten apple juice GOOD LUCK Buckey|||It really is best to use white wine. For a lemon wine sauce, dry wine should be the best choice.|||It will have a different taste and the colour would not be very nice.Use white wine.|||No, you need white wine vinegar and i think that the combination will taste okay!!!|||red wine will change the flavor AND the color ... unless you've tasted it, and it needs "something," don't add worchestershire and/or mustard - yet ... Try a little Brandy, maybe watered down, instead of the white wine|||Red will alter the flavor...and no, I wouldn't add mustard OR worcestershire to a lemon wine sauce.

If you don't have white wine, sub chicken broth.
